I was going to respond to that very stupid statement until I read your response and decided that I couldn't have said it better myself!! Ignorance is alive and well and kicking in the U.S. and this fool has demonstrated that.

you obviously benefit from white priviledge, thus aren't privy to what people of color go through in america on a daily basis.
you think 40 years after the civil rights movement will even come close to erasing the centuries of oppression that white people have oppressed on people of color? are you so ridiculously stupid that you have don't think that the effects aren't still being felt today?
a white person in america can go their entire life without ever knowing or having to deal with a person of color.
you're taking minute examples and it's laughable that your mental inadequacies would ever lead you to believe that anything done today comes even close to what was done and what we're feeling today.
people of color have to deal with white people such as yourself who are chock full of foolish and ignorant view points on a daily basis, while you in all of your sheltered existence can go on living thinking that racism is just a figment of those "silly colored people's" minds.

you left out the fact that white women are the biggest beneficiaries of affirmative action, twit.
so without it, there's a very strong chance you would still be a barefoot, pregnant, uneducated example of trailer trash.
(i left out ignorant because the jury is still out on that)

actually in a study done in 2004 by the princeton review, African-American applicants usually receive over a 200 point advantage (230 to be exact) on their SAT's. women were not listed as getting any advantage.

look at the history of affirmative action and what it's done for white women.
affirmative action was designed to help women and minorities

Born of the civil rights movement three decades ago, affirmative action calls for minorities and women to be given special consideration in employment, education and contracting decisions.

uhh, a study in 2004 doesn't erase the precedent of the past 40 plus years. quit shooting from the hip and use some sound logic and grammar.

Who allocated those points? Princeton Review, the schools, the government, the applicant?....??? 'Cause I didn't get mine!

Mccoy, poor areas have poor schools. You don't see areas that are chock full of wealthy kids with bad public schools, it just doesnt happen. I don't think it will ever be equal, nor should it be. People who settle in nice areas and take on a high tax burden should be rewarded with excellent schools. Why should the same people, often paying a high local tax for education, also take on the burden of kids in inner cities? Once again, it starts at home. The hearts of these students has to change before education can impact their lives. Likewise, the societies they live in have to stop attempting to pull them away from education. Parents are the key to all of this.
