I really hated Detroit the times I've passed through it, but maybe I just missed the good parts (?).
Downtown area, but it's very small. All the 'burbians come down for football/baseball games, clubs, restaurants, concerts, etc. They are rebuilding the downtown area so it will definately get better within the next few years.
