They're just not the most attractive footwear in the world (especially the bright colors). IMO, if you want something comfortable, I'd go with flip flops over Crocs.

Please do not carry any type of fake "designer" handbag.

Don't wear perfume. Some overdo their scent, others are allergic. Soap and deodarant are fine.

Nails and Toes: stick with clear polish, neutral colors or an American or French mani/pedi. Black or electric orange are just a little too much.

No overly baggy jeans or ripped hems.

Please don't wear "chains" on your slacks, unless you want to make it onto Mr. Blackwell's Worst Dressed List.

Recruitment is about showing your unique qualities and individuality, but it is also a time to show you fit in well with a group. You can still stand out without looking drastically different.

Oh thanks. Didn't notice it until after I created this one. Maybe a moderator can merge them.

OK now I wasn't planning on wearing anything overbearing just a soft vanilla scent. Is that bad? I mean just a little perfume always makes you feel more like a lady. And now a days soaps come in very many scents and if you buy the bar soaps with scents they last on your body longer...sorry for the rant (helping an attorney friend out by answering phones and bored out of my mind!!)

Yes, it's bad. Imagine how many other girls are thinking, "I'll just wear this soft apple/floral/etc/etc..." Mix them in one room and you've just killed the poor girl that's allergic. There will be a lot of girls in a close space. No perfume. Let it become part of your own personal gospel for the duration of recruitment. You can be a lady without perfume. Live without the scent for a few days.

Actually, you should probably scrub yourself off with baking soda and a rock.

(Joke.)

I would stay away from Vanilla, it's a common allergy. There was a girl in a GLO here who was HIGHLY allergic to anything vanilla as in if she got within 50 ft of vanilla body splash, she would have a huge allergy attack.

yeah i see the reasoning behind it when everyone is wearing very overpowering fragrances, but everyone will have some type of odor whether or not they have perfume on and I would prefer to smell like vanilla.

The sorority women aren't allowed to wear perfume. You can do whatever you want. If it's just a body splash, I would go ahead and wear it. I know I feel naked and not at my best if I don't wear some sort of scent every day.

Just stay away from the super strong scents - stick to splashes.

While I would avoid black, blue, orange and purple, I see nothing wrong with any type of red or pink polish as long as it is not chipped. My grandmother was one of those "ladies who lunch" the type that had 500$ shoes back in the 60's and she always told me that the only acceptable colors for a woman with class were "red, pink, and a french manicure". Now I know times have changed, but I think as long as you stick to standard types of colors and nothing too wild you will be fine.

*In general ladies, I'd avoid any serious experimenting with your look right before recruitment. For example, 2 days before first party is not the day to go to the salon and try some new hair color like electric blue.

*Also avoid any experiementation DURING the recruitment process. There were always girls who CHOPPED their hair off for whatever reason in the MIDDLE of the week, and when they came back for 3rd party, we had some confusion as to who they were.
