More wrong reasons...
-So you can throw hand signs and do calls.
-So you can stroll and/or step.
-Because you like the organization's colors.
-So you can get into parties for free.
-So you can put letters on everything.

Though this is definitely not why I want to join a GLO, I have been thinking about all the things that would stand still for me to put stickers on, ordering special shirts, and even found a sticker for my mom's car the says "I'm so proud of my (insert GLO)." 12 days and counting for the info meeting!!

My mother made herself an ASA Mom shirt.
She also used to wear my HS letterman jacket. She took my colorguard jacket once, claiming WIU was her alma matter and she earned those colors. Then she tried to touch my Drumline jacket...that's where I drew the line. She did not EARN the navy and baby blue.
ETA: Now I sound like a fratty talking about earning letters.

haha my stepdad says that, but my mom put the honor sticker one on her car when I was in elementary school. I was just going to tell her that she had no choice lol I also told her if I joined Tri-Delta that she had to join Tri-Psi, the mother's club so she could be involved.

My parents hated prep school/university decals as well. I can't help but agree. Having just written the check for the oldest's first SEMESTER of college (COA slightly over $22,000 for the fall ), I'm certainly not going to give the school "free advertising"!

see to me it says that you are more supporting your child's decision than giving free advertising to schools...I didn't my school because of "advertising" or popularity..if I had I would have chosen UF, but I do not believe I would have been happy there.

I don't think my parents felt they were giving my school free advertising (but, in our [red]neck of the woods, it couldn't have hurt!), they were simply proud of their child, who had gotten into her first choice school. That's all, really.

That's the only reason my parents did it. They usually hate those things, but they were proud of my sister and I, and small window stickers were a way to show it.
