Top Greek Schools

I must admit, I've never been to another chapter where we werent welcomed. Hell at convention we get treated like rockstars. However, I do have to say that we are often reluctant about other chapters coming to visit. If it is some guys from like Ole Miss, then no problem, we'll have a great time. However, if it is Ga Tech or Oswego State, we duck and cover. The problem is that these guys want us to take them to the bar, and a lot of our guys would rather not go into a local bar with these kids.

Oh My, To True at times isnt it?

When Brothers come a visitan, they want the suds to flow! Well, when they trash Your House and act fools, they are on the outs and is passed along the chain!

Rightly so isnt it?

They maybe soon learn, Hey, These Guys are My Brothers and I should respect them for who and what they do!

Respect is a big word that many forget.

Well, I don't think it's necessary to shut oneself in your room, but we certainly spend no time with them. Our only brothers that we can stand are at Ole Miss, LSU, Auburn and Georgia and other southern schools. The majority of the brothers I have met outside of the SEC and Texas-Big 12 have been worthless. Honestly, I've never seen so many irreverent people then when I go to convention. Other fraternities on campus have lamented the same feelings when they go to convention.

Yeah, I mean, in the south, I think when you're away from your school you have loyalty with other chapters on your planet. Lets say my chapter and a rival fraternity on our campus were somewhere up north...we'd probably end up hanging around with the other Auburn guys as opposed to our chapter at the northern school. Its just different. In other parts of the country, they really feel like they are brothers with anyone who wears their letters. While I would help our brothers out, etc., if they don't share our background or ideals, I really don't have any special desire to hang out with them. We actually got a call from a regional director one time because we were at another school, and weren't hanging out with our chapter there. Some of the brothers from our fraternity had seen us hanging out at the KA house there, and got pissed and told the director about it. Its just awkward when we're at convention and some guys come up and are like, hey we're having a keg party at ______, and we're like, nah, us ole miss and UGA are gonna go to the bar...

Exactly. I got the "honor" of going to a convention. The chapters everywhere else think that just because we share the same ritual makes us brothers/friends. I'll give them respect for going greek however, they do not deserve or are worth my friendship. We only hang out with the other good southern chapters. I don't know, I guess I just hate getting their gel all over my palm when I shake their hand, I'm not sure.
