If you had asked me 2 years ago if I thought the flag issue would hurt him, I would def had said yes. I didn't think then he could get elected again. However, there really isn't too much opposition to him now. I couldn't find any really recent polling data but what I've got from mid May shows Sonny leading both Cox and Taylor by 8-12 percent. A comprehensive poll taken in late April shows Sonny with a 57 percent approval level, which should be sufficient. The race may tighten some after the primary, but I doubt it. I think Sonny may actually get 60 percent of the vote before it is said and done.
