i would hesitate to say - "oh yah definetely go ahead and take 6-10 year olds to see this!" - if only because it was definetely darker than the previous one and there were some scary/gruesome scenes (people having eyeballs plucked out/rotting corpses in cages/people being whipped/that whole nasty beating heart thing) that i wouldn't take issues with teens seeing but might worry about showing to the average 6-10 year old

I loved the movie but half the time I didn't understand what they were saying, sometimes they were speaking way too low and there was background noise, not to mention mumbly accents and i'd miss jokes.
But my favorite part was with Jack and Elizabeth on the Black Pearl where they have the "Persuade Me" convo, I didn't get the joke until like about the last time he said it. I thought it was very funny!
I really wish they'd warn people to stay through the credits! I would have stayed had they said something earlier!

I really enjoyed seeing the movie Friday. Tho I didn't see the first I enjoyed the second & understood most of what was going on. Great special effects!

We had to rush home because we had a babysitter (she was there for 6 hours!), so we missed the credits. What happened?

It was def. a second movie in a series. I did like it, but not as much as the first. And shoot about the end credits.
What frustrates me most are series that use the second movie for a ton of buildup for the 3rd. There were just a lot of loose ends, but luckily I only have to wait until next summer... unlike the prequel to Star Wars.... and Matrix.
Spoiler alert... Highlight to read:
But yeah... Barbossa coming back? I'm sure there was something I missed in the previous movie, but I thought he was shot and fell over dead? But the undead monkey wasn't really explained either. Hopefully, next movie.

Highlight for the answer: Yes, it was. In the scene after the credits, we saw the monkey return to the cave, remove a coin from the chest, and with a shriek, turn back into skeleton monkey.

Highlight to read:
You see the cannibal tribe (or whatever they are) and they are dancing around - the camera pans over to the "god" chair where Capt Jack was sitting & you see the dog sitting there with a big bone in his mouth.
Cute, but not something that you absolutely had to sit through the credits to see.

Thanks for the description of the credits. We didn't stay for all of them.
I'll go call my friend who saw it with me. She whined for a while when the cannibals were chasing the dog.

I was like "run doggy run" LOL
My cousin, who has never seen the first movie, wants to see the second (kind of), so I told her that she would like the first one. She's just not a big Johnny Depp fan and I told her that he made the movie and that he is actually quite funny in the 1st one. So we shall see if she rents it or not.
My impatience is already kicking into high gear. I'm ready for it to be next summer so I can watch and see what happens with Jack.

I agree - and Carnation, knowing yours, I would definitely say pass on the theatre. Maybe (big maybe) when it comes to DVD & you can "monitor" the scenes better. I was really glad that we didn't take Eli - he loved the first one, ghosts & all, but this one is much, much darker & more brutal.
About the part after the credits - yes, it was really funny - BUT, nothing earth shattering that you missed & it only took about 3 seconds to show the clip. So if you want to know what you missed, PM me & I'll fill you in.

Saw it yesterday, didn't stay through the whole credits, so I guess I'll be seeing it again.
I loved it, although I'll admit that it was a tad long. The movie was like a typical 2nd movie in a trilogy, good, but not the best. I absolutely loved the first one, now I just can't wait until next summer to see the 3rd one, which by the way is called "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End". (Which was kind of obvious considering it was said by Tia Dalma.
I definately need to see it again so that I "catch" everything.
I also loved the score to the movie. I bought the soundtrack on Thursday, so I had a chance to listen to it prior to seeing the movie. I love Hans Zimmer as a composer.
The last 15 minutes of the movies absolutely shocked me in more ways than one, so I shall leave some spoiler space...

1) The kiss between Jack & Elizabeth. Holy crap! I thought it was HOT. The sexual inneuendos between the two of them were great! Plus, I think Johnny Depp is so gorgeous!!! So now I'm thinking I might be rooting Jack & Elizabeth instead of Elizabeth and Will. LOL.
2) Barbossa-seriously, I should have seen it coming because of the damn monkey not being alive or dead. I'm so excited though because I love the character of Barbossa.

ANyway, loved the movie! Disappointed that it ended the way it did, but excited for the 3rd.

Johnny Depps Face
I have not seen the movie. I keep coming across this flesh crawling picture. Are those eyeballs on Johnny Depp's face at one point during the movie? I couldn't make out what that was, it looks like eyes.
