My brothers friend, who is a HUGE comic book fan, didn't like the movie. His chief complaints were...

1) "Lex Luther wouldn't need to marry a rich old lady and steal her money, he's loaded in the first place"

2) "The actor who played Superman wasn't buff enough"

3) "Kate Bosworth was too wimpy/whiney as Lois Lane"

4) "Why did they cast James Marsden who is already known for one comic book franchise in Superman?" (James was Cyclops in X-Men 1-3)

It was actually quite humorous to listen to him complain about the movie. He was so into it. LOL.

My biggest issue is the fact that no one seems to get that Clark and Superman are the same (hello take off the glasses) LOL.

I definately want to see it again. I would like to see it on the IMAX, but only one theater in AZ is playing it (on IMAX) and it is a 3-D version. Otherwise I would like to see it on the Cine Capri (which is this absolutely huge screen).

That's not true in this movie. The "little boy" knows.

BTW, I saw it opening weekend, and it was GREAT!!!!!

I guess I should have been more specific , I meant adults not figuring it out.

I asked someone about why they thought Jason figured it out and this person pointed out that as a child, Jason, probably doesn't meet as many people as his parents do, which makes sense. So he is able to "see things" differently. Where you know the adults don't figure "take off the glasses", but Jason does.

Correct me if I'm wrong... So now that Lois knows the truth about Jason's paternage, she actually has no memory of what happened because Superman wiped her memory, correct?

Don't read if you haven't seen the movie

Spoiler. I think she always knew the truth. Why do you think she was so hurt those 5 years and wrote that article? And I didn't see where he wiped her memory. In fact, I bet that will be the center point of the sequel.

Re: Batman, Batman Begins was the best!

Superman:
The comic and the movies have always poked fun at the glasses/curl thing. In every movie someone sees Clark and goes.. maybe?? Followed usually by Clark doing something goofy and Lois and co. changing their minds. Who would look for a Superhero at a newspaper?

As for Lex, in this movie he'd been in jail for years and just gotten out on appeal. If his assests weren't all seized to begin with, whoever controlled them during his imprisonment probably depleted them/stole them.

some observations on lois lane:
she won a pulitzer, but wanted to know if the letter f was in catastrophe (or was she being facetious)?
she was basically battered and beat-up throughout the movie, but there were no visible bruises or scars on her pale skin?
I agree with kiml122. as much as clark kent is in lois's face she still can't put 2&2 together?

I wondered the same things. After what she went through in the airplane alone, I would have had to soak in boiling hot water filled with epsom salt and get a deep tissue massage.

I still enjoyed it because it is SUPERMAN.

I suggest you watch the first movie. Besides seeing Christopher Reeve, you'll see where they got a lot of Lois' personality, and Clark's too. She couldn't spell in that movie either, and was always taking the sex/murder kind of stories.
