i'm weird and live alone so i always have the TV on even if i'm not watching or listening to it. most of the time it's on mute while i'm doing whatever in the house.

SO...

the first time i saw (but didn't HEAR) the commercial... it looked like they were stepping AND going for it hard, lol

the second time i got to see as well as hear it, it seemed more military cadence. it didn't FEEL step-ish when i matched the sounds with the actions.

*but, i am in TBS and i see nonblack people step all the time, lol*

Mr Starfish walked by the tv when the commercial came on and had to backpedal back into the room and was like Huh? Are they stepping in a Starbucks commercial?! It did seem 1/2 military and half stepping..we just shook our heads and figured nothing is sacred.

cadence or stepping?

I saw the commercial a couple of times and thought it was half stepping, half military cadence as well...the words are military, but some of those moves were straight off a step show!! I found it quite eye-catching and amusing, actually..and exactly what Starbucks was looking to achieve...

I thought they were doing a little bit of both, come to think about it... My GDI husband didn't say anything about the commercial--and he'd be the first one to say some bullisht... So it may be more military cadence than stepping...

How come Bethune Cookman drum line is playing in a Cadillac Commerical? Now to me, that was very interesting...

Why this? Why now?

Out of all of the commercials they have done in the past, I wonder why they chose this theme and why at this point in time? Is it to show they like to see stepping or is it a way of them saying we can step also? Lol. I know I had to see the commercial about 3 times before the concept of seeing NPC/IFC people stepping in the future came to mind. Hmm... is it possible?
