Off topic (sorry, I know that's a pet peeve)...
The other night at dinner my husband had just taken a big sip of red wine and something funny got said on TV and he litterally spit it all over the table. It shot across the table, into my purse, one the chairs - everywhere! I've never seen it this bad outside of a sitcom/movie!

One of my biggest pet peeves is when people "apologize" for other peoples' so-called shortcomings. Like

... I'm sorry that you aren't able to do that.

and

I'm also sorry that you have your self-worth tied up into...

When people do this, it just makes them look too weak to call (what they consider) a spade a spade. If you're going to apologize for something, apologize for something you have control over - don't apologize for someone else.
