When I got my little, we didn't have a spending limit, and I probably spent over $100 on her (but she's worth it!). The next year, bigs had to pay a set amount (I think it was $60 or $70) and the New Member Ed would bulk buy gifts for each week of their new member period.. like on the first week they got a lavalier, second week a picture frame, etc...
