For quite a long time now, most alert NIC fraternities have placed
a priority upon revivals, and a large percentage of new chapters
these days are simply coming back and restoring the chapter, thus bringing back orphaned alumni. Most of us have a helleva
list of dead ones, so there's plenty for us to do.
A goodly number are doing this with success. I salute all of them
for there was a long time that the uglies, wart hogs and critics
tried to wreak havoc upon us. We are doing a pretty good job at
it, though it has opened the door to a new level of bureaucracy,
greek officials (some not even having been members of the NIC-
type, perhaps wannabees or hens' clubs, tho) & paperwork
We may, though, see fewer houses and live-in quarters, as today's undergrads have more money and less inclination to live
in the cramped conditions that some of us did. And many don't have the penchant for saving $ for future housing. We'll make
do, however, though it may be in lodges or party/meeting rooms,
and the dixie ladies will tough it out in their five million bucks manses and their 250 girl chapters...and of course, wonder why the rest of the country shys away from placing chapters there.
Moteesir? (did I get that right?)
