Sigma Kappa at Illinois has a cold dorm...but it wasn't always fully used. When the house wasn't filled to maximum capacity, there was plenty of room for beds in the individual rooms, so people only used the cold dorm if they wanted to. Sometimes only five people would move their beds to the cold dorm and sometimes it was more like 20. Sorry I don't know about the rest of the houses.

I LOVE THAT YOU USE DCI NAMES! As a Pioneer alum when I much younger (I was a member of the 1994 Division II World Champion crew), I thought this was the coolest yet! So, glad she liked Pioneer! Can't wait until January!

Definitely one of the most creative (in my opinion) for names of chapters... I haven't kept up with DCI since after I graduated from high school, but I have to keep my hopes up for the Blue Devils and SCV since I've had several friends in both groups over the past few years

Good luck to your cousin, and keep us updated!

Ohhhh, I LOVE sleeping in a chilly room!!!!! Getting all snuggly in your blankets!!!!! I dont think I could handle sleeping in a room with so many, though. What if someone snores!!!!!!!!! I need it to be absolutely silent when I sleep.

I am rushing at IU and we were told under no circumstances were we to wear high heels with out t-shirts and jeans. it was uggs or tennis shoes. The house are so spread apart at IU that I would have died wearing anything but tennis shoes.

and the shirts were black long sleave that were too small for everyone.

believe me, 19-party is not the most fun thing, I had the same conversation 3 times at each house.

most hosue (even new ones) have the cold dorm system here.

Is rush here that competative? Half the girls don't make it, but it's mostly because they are unable to get a 2.6 by the end of their first semester here. that's pretty sad condsidering a 2.6 is like a c average or somehting. many girls aren't comming back to finish.

Jojo... good luck going through recruitment (if you do decide to continue as I hope you will from reading a previous thread)! A word of caution... you never know who is reading this thread so choose your words wisely! Good luck and let us know how everything works out!

The houses I know for sure that do not have cold dorms are AEPhi, Zeta, Chi O, DZ, and KD. I think AOPi doesn't either, but they lived in a different house when I rushed (that house is now the School of Informatics) and I've never been in the new one. AXiD and Tri-Delt have both cold dorms and sleeping rooms. The others all do the cold dorm thing, I think.

We had a sleeping porch when I was in school, but it was indoors, not really a porch in anything but name. We didn't have AC in the house, so it wasn't really a cold dorm, but I loved sleeping there my freshman year when I spent the night at the house. We voted to get rid of it at the end of my freshman year and turned it into one five girl room and one six girl room, so by the time I moved into the house everyone slept in their bedroom.

KD has sleep rooms and day rooms. Four girls share them. It is like a mini-cold dorm.

Chi-O has wings with sleep studies, but I don't think we saw them.

AOPi does not have cold dorms. They have 6, 4, and i believe 2 (correct me if i'm wrong)

I think they also have the largest house on campus.

Almost all the houses had cold dorms. I always thought that cold dorms were for houses that were old converted mansions, but since many new houses are built with them, I guess it must be a better system

I wouldn't mind living in one, but I know they mentioned that someone has to do "wake-ups" and wake up at 5 am and wake everyone else up (not too crazy about that)lol

			That is Nice to hear.
But, I lived in a Dungeon with a GLO Local that Afilliated with a National. It was kind of fun at the time=60s.

But, what is the shame is that is not understood today in The Me Generation=Suites and all of The I am to cool!
How Much Fun is really Missed in intermingling?
Everything seems to be join and be treated like Homeys with MaMa and Daddy taking care of You!

That is what Greeks are all about, being together!

Well, the alternative is letting everyone use alarm clocks! I rather wake up at 5 twice a semester than have to deal with 15 alarm clocks every morning.
