My HS, as well as many other private schools across the state, does not rank its students.

Did anyone else here attend a school that does not rank its students?

My HS "sort of" ranked its students. The rankings existed, and the valedictorian and salutatorian were told they were #1 and #2 respectively, but everyone else was told only their decile.

My school ranked each class. During Commencement, when they asked those in the Top Five Percent to stand up, the only person who stood up was the guy who was literally last in our class!

We loved it!

Because those were 2 different things. It was a sort of National Honor Society but for the Top 10% of the class (which was 29 people)....then we had another "spin off" of that "club" which was only for Top 2% of the class (which was like 6 people). So yeah.

The Top Ten (people in top 10% of senior class) were invited to a special banquet at the end of the year, got special recognition at graduation, and had a separate yearbook photo.

I still say the bottom 10% should've got something too.....like longer time limits for tests or free study aids or something.

I'm kind of surprised I didn't post in this thread before. Just because I graduated 26 years ago...

Spanish Club (officer for 3 years)
National Honor Society
Girl Scouts (yeah, in high school, we didn't tell ANYBODY ever!)
Candystriper (volunteering at local hospital, knew it would be a prereq to getting into the med school program I wanted to get into, ended up finding out about Occupational Therapy while helping the Physical Therapists in their area and ended up majoring in OT instead)
Worked 20-30 hours a week from the time I was 16

I had something to do every day of the week, although it doesn't look like much compared to some of these lists!

When I was in high school they needed a student to sign all the checks to pay for stuff for the musicals and plays in my school. They didn't want to have a formal club, so since I was in all the plays and musicals anyway it was me.

The good news was that because I was the only member, not a lot of people knew about it and there wasn't the "drama club geek" distinction.

That and I got to choose the plays and musicals we did. And my budget was a lot bigger than a lot of other clubs, lol.

I swear I was in other clubs and sports teams that had more members than just me.

Yearbook
French Club
Spanish Club
Chorus
Pop Group (aka Show Choir)
All County Chorus
All State Chorus
Band
All County Band
Track and Field
Soccer
Musicals - Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Narrator) Grease (Rizzo)
Plays - Julius Caesar (Portia)
Prom Committee
National Honor Society
JCLA (a Christian theatre troupe)
Lifeguard and Swimming teacher (for elementary kids)

I had two summer jobs, one teaching swimming 15 hours a week and one working as a barback (then a waitress) at an outdoor seasonal bar and grill.
