Your information is correct. There were 13 episodes, and the Doctor did indeed regenerate. I believe the next new episode is a Christmas special, followed by another season that will start to air in January in the UK.

Yep the Christmas Invasion is coming up soon

Followed by the second season.... with cameo appearances by 'old' Dr. Who characters; some even reprising their old characters

I can hardly wait.
