I was thisclose to going to Winthrop. My parents were rooting for me to go there and at a time, I thought I was going to go there too. But when I found out that I got accepted to USC and had a chance to go to the best journalism school in the state (and one of the best in the Southeast), I jumped at the chance and have not regretted it. One of my best friends graduated from there and he loved it.

I don't totally agree what she was saying but at the same time, it makes me wonder how Af-Am students feel there. Winthrop does a great job of recuriting Af-Am students and when they get there, are they disapointed. If they are students there and feel like they are not getting the "black" experience, they can drive 25-30 minutes up I-77 and visit JC Smith. Also, there are a several of Af-Am clubs/groups on that campus.

Congratulations to the Winthrop sorors for winning SC State's and USC's step shows!!
