Morbid curiosity

My mom and my husband have both stated that they want to be creamated.

I think my mom wants a "floattilla out to sea".

My husband wants his ashes spread either on one of the Galapagos Islands or the Austrialian Great Barrier Reef...

I have been told and I have read that many African cultures do not "believe" in creamation unless you want to make sure that a "soul" does not "comeback". I don't know how very much about that, but I think it has to do with one's "chi" or "spirit" and the belief in reincarnation--or recycling of souls--so as to not deplete the "Guf" in Heaven...

I saw a nice pink and green casket one day when my folks decided to purchase plots...

Anyhoo, my paternal grandfather is "relatively famous" and his is buried in a "public location" with a huge memorial devoted to all his works throughout his life.

My maternal grandmother was extremely poor and it took pulling "hen's teeth" to get one of my uncles to cover the expenses of an appropriate headstone...

Either way, I want a proper funeral. Not some hospital muck in the morgue...
