There is a story, that I don't think Mrs. Parks ever confirmed, that basically said the same thing. The story also goes that a 15 year old unmarried pregnant girl did the same thing (refused to give up her seat) a few days/week earlier, but given her "situation" she was not appropriate to be the face of the bus boycott. Mrs. Parks was a much better face. Regardless, what she did too remarkable courage and she should be remembered as a hero.
