My parents always hated these, too...they said that assignments like that were really to see how much the
parents knew! And I think it's true--I never learned squat from those. When I start teaching, you bet I'm not going to be handing out "fun" assignments like that. But I would like to say, it's really awesome of you and
winnieb to take the time to help your kids with their work, because so many parents either can't or just won't.
