Lol I use to be a supervisor in an apartment complex where the employess lived on the property so out of courtesy you gave them that time to try and find another place and move off the property unless they were going to start paying rent.
I remember people would be so paranoid if you asked them to walk with you somewhere (including myself). If my supervisor said -"Girl walk with me to ___ while I tell you about such and such..." I'd say - "Wait , let me get my purse!"
