Thanks for posting this article, Bro. Artic-u-late. Bro. West hits on several interesting and compelling points.

The federal response to Katrina will be uneven at best. On Wednesday, federal legislation providing $700 million in affordable housing loans was introduced. But nowhere -- that I saw -- did it address funding for public housing needs. That's what I mean about "unevenness." All of the displaced are citizens, and many are taxpayers who deserve to have these issues addressed, one way or the other.

Everybody is watching now, but when the media spotlight on New Orleans fades is when it'll be most important to be observant. That's when the real deal will be done. Bro. N4sir5 hit on a lot of this in his "Gulf Shall Rise Again" thread commentary. (<--and that's the last time I prop a Clark-Atlanta grad, today).
