My mom didn't want me to rush AT ALL!!!! But, once I did and she saw how happy it has made me, she has been very supportive of it. She doesn't understand it at all really (she never went to college), but she realizes that I have really gotten something out of it. Besides, if I hadn't rushed, I wouldn't have my best friend now who she thinks of kinda like a second daughter! Haha.

I don't think it's that understandable. You have every right to have them pay as much attention to you as to everyone else at the table! Don't sell yourself short sweetie!
