I gotta say I'm impressed... they are really capturing the Roman world, and not pulling punches when it comes the Roman attitudes towards sex or violence.
For once in a show the Rubicon wasn't some great river or carefully marked boundry - but the small river it really was...
I also like their take on the intercine political scheming that led to the fallout between Ceasar and Pompeii; as well as the portrayal of class within the political system.
I alos like how the language is closely "Latin" in form and vocabulary
Its been a long time since I've heard [i]Probity[i] used other than in Classics... heck they are even slipping in Latin words and phrases now in this last episode.
