According to this article, Agence France-Presse and Getty Images entered into a partnership in 2003. So I'm guessing yes, those photos will be seen around the world. And any media that subscribes to AP services will have those photos taken by the AP as well. I'm sure the American newspapers will censor the photos they use somewhat moreso than foreign papers will--seems to go that way, anyway. Foreign press seems to be a bit more open to graphic images than most American press.
