I'm sure Pi Beta Phi nationals has investigated the situation thoroughly, but it seems a small reason to close an entire chapter. I'm assuming that there is alot to the situation that the rest of us are not aware of.

Feeling terribly sorry for the Pi Phis at Chico for losing their chapter.....

I see it as being the straw that broke the camel's back.

Officials for the national sorority said the sorority suffered from financial, academic and recruitment problems before the party.

It may seem like a small reason, but according to that, they've had problems for quite some time. Of course, those who would know for sure would be members of that chapter as well as Pi Phi HQ.

When an HQ decides to close a chapter, it's never a sudden decision. Lengthy discussion and investigations take place because no one ever wants to see a chapter close.
