Anna was married to Tony DiMera when he wasn't crazy and evil. Actually, back then, his twin, Andre Dimera was loony. Anna had Carrie with Roman before she was married to Tony. Roman never knew about Carrie until she was like 6 or 7. Carrie's last name has never been "Dimera".
I'm glad I found this thread. As you can see, I've been watching DOOL since I was about 7 (I'm 28 now)
