Soft food for a couple of days (Crabmeat omlette, creme brulee, cheese souffle, Bavarian Cream, geez it was rough! Don't sweat it. Actually, unless the Doc recommends a general I'd go for a local, the pain killer lasts longer and it doesn't hurt anywhere as much when you come back to earth. Also, assuming the Doc is a recognized professional and a member of the ADA he will have an assistant with him not only to help but to serve as a witness that all was done correctly and you were fully respected while under anesthesia. Good luck and don't worry about it.
By the way, I did get the munchies when I came back to earth so you might want to stock up on soft food that tastes good. She- crab soup, lobster bisque, poached eggs with hollandaise, trust me, you want to have easy access to good soft chow.
I should have thought of eating that when I had my wisdom teeth out. That's not a bad menu, especially when you're in pain.

Honestly though, I was able to eat almost normally by the end of the day, so I really had nothing to complain about.
