(Due to mono, I had to repeat Sophomore Year)... my 4th year or Junior Year....

I moved into an off-campus apartment where I was living rent-free in exchange for planning resident events. They paired me with a freshman and a junior.

The junior was a little odd, and within a semester, she decided to move into a house with friends. One of my ADPi sisters moved in.

The freshman pledged another sorority and we were pretty close friends. It was like having a "Pahellenic" little sis. Or so I thought. I remember having a conversation with her one time that she'd brought up about where you keep things like money and jewelry. Boy was I naiive! I had been stashing my waitressing money in my dresser and depositing it on a weekly basis (BOA's student checking only gave me a few free teller visits a month, and they it would charge you....) so I'd hold onto my cash.

Well, imagine my surprise not too long after that conversation ... I went to pay ADPi dues and rent.... and my $$$ was all but gone!

The girl was being supported by wealthy parents and had plenty of money-- it was infuriating. I confronted her and she denied it, but two of HER sorority sisters (who were close friends of mine) threatened to call her up to their sorority standards board if she didn't fess up and cough up the cash.

What a mess! I ended up having to take financial inactivity in my sorority because I barely had enough money to eat!

Thankfully, senior year was a wonderful living experience and since I have been out of college I have been blessed with some wonderful roommates!

And now that I'm living in TX, I'm in a one bedroom!

For a while I wondered if I'd done something wrong in a past life--- I mean, I'm a neat person, I don't get in other people's business and for the most part, I'm not a remote control hog or someone who takes over the living room with my personal items.

Goodness, sometimes when I miss college I think about those roommates... and then I am so glad to be out!
