Big/Littles

I was in the same chapter as Jocelyn, so this may sound repetitive but we had to choose 5 members from a list of members in good standing, i didn't get my first choice which caused this huge dilemma I guess you'd say, but like I've said since square one, my number 1 choice is still a great friend to me, so I don't think the title is that important. We are all sisters and some of us have very wonderful friendships. I honestly wouldn't trade the big I have for anything. She is amazing. Her and I seem to be meant for each other, both of us seem to have many of the same problems... and we leave Kent together. Too bad I'm in NY and she is in NJ... ahhhhh I'm babbling. Sorry ladies

We do things very differently! Girls in good standing and leaving the sorority first get first pick on littles in the pledge class. It is only sister's choice and new members are suprized by getting bigs. We make large letters about 3 feet and cover them with plush stuffing then fabric. Usually they are decorated in the lil's favorite colors and favorite flower or appliques and have felt letters that say lil on top and big on bottom. The first they recieve early in their new member program. There is a clue as to who their big sister is on the back. They have about a week and a half to 2 weeks to guess. Then they have big sister night. They recieve their second letter at this time with their name and their big's on it. They are suprised after a small ceremony then we spend the night celebrating and taking pictures of the family trees and giving a basket of gifts from bigs to lils. As well as giving our lil a spirit name, usually that follows the theme of our family. The last letter is given to the lil on her initiation day with the name of her pladge class and the date of initiatian. The letters are beautiful and hang on every sister's wall
