slander (and/or libel) is defamation. I think that what your manager has been doing can be considered slander. Of course, if your manager was to write soemthing down to your future employer (or even say something) that was even a slightly FALSE, then yes that could be considered either slander or libel. Obviously, this man is going to try any way to make you look bad, so if you have proof that he says these false things that defame your character, then just sue his pants off!! lol
