Ever had a day like this?
Sisters & GreekChat community, pardon me for this vent...but y'all need to hear about the day I had today.
The day starts off normally...I didn't have enough time to eat breakfast because I woke up late (and yet I had enough time to check GC ).
Traffic was normal...it was when I got to school this morning that I started having problems. A friend and I walked out of the parking structure to our offices when I fished around in my purse to find my cigarettes (bad I know, but a hard habit to break). As I grabbed my pack out of my purse, some trash (gum wrappers & cellophane) fell out. Normally I'd pick up my trash, but they fell into one of those drainage ditches, AND I KNOW I WASN'T ABOUT TO STICK MY FINGERS IN THERE. An idiot walks up to us and starts yelling at me: "YOU KNOW, IT'S ALREADY A F***ING DISGUSTING HABIT AS IT IS AND YOU HAVE TO F***ING LITTER?". I'm like, "I KNOW HE JUST DIDN'T TRY AND GIVE ME A F***ING MORALITY LESSON" to my friend. So me and this jerk are yelling expletives to each other which attracts campus security. Luckily, a friend of mine who works for security saw what had happened and instructed the a$$hole to leave me alone. I got the last word in when my campus security friend told me to go to work because I was going to be late. A half an hour later I was telling the story to some friends when the idiot guy comes passing by. He gave me a dirty look and I asked him "WHAT THE F*** are you looking at?". Unlady-like, I know...but I have a horrible temper and I don't take chit from no one.
Moving on...Leigh and I are walking out of the structure. I tried to walk around a puddle to avoid slipping...but when I did I accidentally stepped on a dead bird. I felt something soft under my shoes and I literally screamed when I saw what it was.
Halfway to work Leigh and I are walking...and as luck would have it--a bird crapped on my shirt. At least it wasn't white like the last time a bird decided to release on me! I was lucky though, because I had an extra shirt in my office.
Work was busy as heck because we're approaching the first day of class and everyone's coming by to get their IDs and stuff. Normal. We're redoing our office so computer wires are everywhere. I tripped on some cords, fell on my bum-bum, and landed on a power strip. Again, luckily...the power strip didn't have any plugs in it and it wasn't in use.
Then I went to buy books...let's say the paycheck I got on Monday is gone. Scholarships will eventually pay for it, but they don't come in till September. Don't you hate that?
Then I had to look forward to going to the eye doctor because I need new contacts. Ever saw that episode of FRIENDS where Rachel's terrified of that air blast to check for glaucoma? That was me today. My eye sight's worse now...20/500! Again, something good happened from this--I didn't have any problems with my insurance today and I was able to get a good amount of lenses.
I thought nothing else could happen to me, but then as I was on my way home I found out that a car had accidentally knocked a utility pole down, crippling traffic lights and causing horrendous traffic. What normally would've taken me 10 minutes took me almost 45. Again, luckily there wasn't a power outage because if I was kept from GC I would've been royally ticked off.
It's 4 in the afternoon now and I was able to sit down and eat my frist meal of the day--Spicy Korean Chicken. Nothing's happened yet, but if I suddenly come down with stomach problems I won't be surprised.
Sorry for the long rant. Whew. I actually feel relaxed now. Tomorrow's Friday...and I'm off to go to the beach and enjoy the weekend.
