There is a huge difference. The democratically elected Iraqi government is not asking the U.S. to immediately leave. In fact, they want the U.S. to stay until they can handle their own security. Its called "national self-determination," and there are no inconsistencies in American foreign policy with regard to Iraq and Lebanon.
