Most facilities discourage the use of birdseed now. I remember it used to be standard.
We were planning a memorial service in a building that is often used for wedding receptions. I can't remember how many times the staff told us that WE COULD NOT THROW BIRDSEED. Um...yeah. The next time I'm at a memorial service, I'm going to throw birdseed just for the hell of it.
