Age and the Non-Traditional Student
Gentlemen,
I have a question for one and all, the more opinions the better.
...I am a non-traditional student and according to the latest trends the fastest growing segment of college life.
By no means am I crusty old fart, but in my early thirties I have had the oportunity to be associated with the fine men of Kappa Sigma as a colonist but becuase I have had to transfer to another university to complete my degree, I am no longer associated with the Kappa Sigma Colony.
My question is how do you feel about older men wishing to pledge? Not the mid-life crisis sort who wheel around in a convertible, chug beer through a funnel and chase 19 yr olds because a receeding hairline has them paniced but honest men who wish association because of not only the fellowship but benefits fraternal association brings.
If you see nothing wrong in having truly elder brothers, how would you suggest approaching the men at the fraternity? Would a letter of introduction sent to the RUSH chair or to some member of the EC introducing oneself and explaining both your age, and reasons why you want to pledge be an appropriate ice breaker?
I would welcome all replies on this matter
