As some GCers have suggested, starting a local sorority is a good idea. I read the thread (well not the whole thread) about getting a local started at UCSC so I sort of have an idea of how I could go about doing it, but since LSU has a Panhellenic Board, how would I do it then? And would Greek Affairs really give me a list of the girls who didn't receive bids?

"Cut once, cut always" has been an unwritten rule at LSU for as long as I can remember. When I was there, it was mainly two chapters. (This was told to me by the chapter presidents involved and their alumnae advisers. They believed in standing by the chapter’s original decision.) Since you say that it has now grown to all chapters, it's not all that surprising.

As far as starting a local, talk with Angie the Panhellenic adviser. It might be possible but there are definitely some challenges. The main one is getting liability insurance with affordable premiums. You will also need to have programming compatible with the Greek Assessment program. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
