Since I've yet to hear of someone who died from learning proper table manners, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that everyone should at least learn which utensil is used for what. Same with dishes, water glasses, and such.

And if that means that you need to keep a "crib sheet" ready, so be it. There's nothing wrong with a diagram for when you either set a table, or to check out prior to a big night out.

So, why not leave this at having and knowing how to use a good etiquette book? And if the chapter wants to hold a seminar or two on it, all the better!
