My current car is a standard... I actually prefer it over automatic.
One of my very first cars ('78 dodge ram) had a "Three on the Tree" shifter... THAT took a LONG time to get used to. In the beginning I would slam on the gas, wait until the engine got really loud, and then let go of the clutch - if you can picture the screech of burning rubber and black smoke at every light
. It was a disaster.
