Brother Jono,

As is most often the case, you ask a great question! My first reaction was that it must be "Yours in ZAX" to be correct. Afterall that was the way I was taught it should be written and that is the way I almost always write it. However, I realized that we don't call ourselves "Lambda Chi Alphans." Usually it is Lambda Chis even if this designation does not fully embody the meaning of our Brotherhood; others may say "Choppers" or "Lamb Chops" but we don't. Those nicknames are disrespectful and have been know to cause "problems" with others!

When you look at the English translation of ZAX, it does continue to make sense in an abbreviated form like "IZ." I suppose someone could use "IX" and it would still make sense in translation. Even so, I'll be a traditionalist and say that for me it is 'Yours in ZAX" at all times.

Yours in ZAX,

Mike Raymond, ZUZ
