I, like Caroline (er, Carolyn), think Trump made a great decision, and I don't think it was rash at all.
Bradford may have been the best businessman there -- that is, he may have had the best business skills (arguable, but I'll go with it) -- but his biggest liability was his cockiness, a cockiness that led him to make a rash and impulsive decision when it mattered because he was so secure in his own invulnerability that he didn't think about the implications of what he was doing. Like Trump said, that sort of thing can ruin a company in a heartbeat. It showed incredible stupidity and lack of judgment.
As for Ivana, the smartest thing she did was bringing Bradford into the boardroom, because she would have been gone otherwise. Thing is, I'm not sure she realized it when she brought Bradford in.
