About a year and a half ago the LAPD finally implemented new procedures for when they can pursue at high speed. LAPD Chief William Bratton convinced the police commission to adopt strict new guidelines that limit pursuits to fleeing felons or people visibly driving under the influence.
I feel like we haven't seen nearly as many of them as we did for a while (especially in the late 90s). I' not sure that the new guidelines are the reason, just feel like after the 3 wo baby had his arm ripped off last year the news stopped covering them as much.
