It's basically a pin that's given to the mother of a Sigma Kappa. I really wanted to give one to my mom but she's pretty anti-Greek b/c of all the awful stories she's heard.
I think my favorite was when she saw me in my whites & one of my sisters told her it's b/c we gather around a room and rub oil on a naked virgin while chanting. She was horrified! I've been trying to dispel her fears on that one for a while. Unfortunately, she's asked what goes on during initiation & the other occasions we wear our whites but I can't tell her so her ideas are further solidified.
