I'd be REAL interested to know why they have been referred to as "thug" or "gangsta" jackets. It seems that when people are unaware of certain traditions or customs they get labeled in a negative manner.
These are the same kinda people who grew up listening to Tupac and other rap, yet admittingly didn't meet a person of color (or maybe only met a few) until they left their hometown (rich white towns).

Hence, they try to internalize the bits and pieces of the culture that they think gives them some type of aura of machismo, but they fail to realize the history and background behind it.

So at the same time, they talk abut how they don't understand why certain people of color act a certain way, yet will buy into the poppiness and marketablility of it.

These people also consider cultural greeks more like gangs.

I can't change people's minds about stuff anymore, and people are too stubborn these days for me to even try.
