Phone sex is cheating. Or cyber sex. They tend to get lumped together anyways. Why is it cheating? You are allowing another person to fulfill needs that should be fulfilled by your significant other. You can whine all day long about "He/She isn't giving me what I want" but ultimately it comes down to this: a) You learn to live with it or b) You get out of the relationship and find someone/something that fulfills your needs. This explains "emotional cheating". If your s.o. is making you feel bad (or just not doing much to make you feel good) and you turn to someone else to get that, it's cheating regardless if you have any sexual attraction to them. And then in that case it's best to get out of the relationship.
