Thank for you knocking all the proof away and making it a popularity contest: I never came on trying to make Reagan to be the best of the best. People assume. You assume. If we were to do it on popularity, Reagan wins hands down.

I never said anything about a popularity contest. The "majority" of Americans TODAY feel nostalgic about Reagan and his passing, even kids who weren't even born yet. During his presidency, however, particularly during the Iran contra situation, he wasn't very popular and people were actually concerned. He had to even make an apologetic speech where he had to admit that he had lied and prior to that he was very unpopular. Despite this, what I said was that his policies and decisions did not positively affect everybody. Don't put words in my mouth.

C) I understand some may not have been touched by him but don't put lies out there. In fact don't come into a thread where they're remembering him through praise and post this stuff - most of it irrelevant or lies. People have a choice what they want to see on tv, switch the channel. Do that here. Nobody told you that you couldn't speak.

This was the initial post and the title of this thread is simply Ronald Reagan. Some folks chose to remember him through praise, but that wasn't a requirement, as far as I can tell for posting in THIS thread. In any case, I felt compelled to respond to the posts that I did and in the manner that I did. End of story.
