I really didn't understand any of these politics before becoming a member of this message board. Actually, I made a huge mistake one time and almost jepordized a friend of mine. We were at a social gathering and I knew she was interested in becoming a Delta. She was currently pledging a service frat at the time and telling me how dificult it was. Well, my ignorant behind, I yelled over the noise of the crowd, "JUST WAIT TILL YOU GET ON LINE FOR DELTA." My God, I thought she was going to kill me right then and there.
She schooled the hell out of me later!!
The worst thing was, nobody heard us, but maybe 30 seconds after I said that, a whole bunch of Deltas decided to stand right behind us to watch the show!! Had i said it a minute later, they all would've heard me!!
But I digress: It's hard to understand the politics when you're not exposed to Greek Life and you don't REALLY understand that bond and how closely these women hold their sororities to their hearts. The more I saw that, the more I knew I had to find the sorority that was right for me. Thank god, I've found it (let's just pray now that I can do what it takes to get in there!!)
It's a good idea to sit back and bit and watch the mistakes of other GDI's. You'll learn a lot, and you won't suffer for the lesson!!

DISCLAIMER: This happened to me on another board, someone mistook my compliment of their sorority as an interest: I am not referring to Zeta when I mention the sorority I've found.
I just think it's in my best interest at this point in time to leave her nameless.
