Hey Greeks and Sisterfriends....The People Of Sierra Leone Need Your Help!!!!

Hello People,

It has come to my attention the atrocities that are going on right now in the country of Africa, in particular the little poor country of Sierra Leone. The Liberian government has given permission for rebels to plunder the town of Sierra Leone of its Diamond supply. Keep in mind that Sierra Leone does not have the largest supply of diamonds in world but they indeed have the best quality diamond supply.
Rebels have not only taken advantage of the people in the country, they have left them crippled by their cruel tactics. First they force the Sierra Leone to come and work for them. If they refuse, they will be killed, or part of their limbs will be amputated. This is by barbaric means of course. As many as 20,000 people in Sierra Leone have been amputated amd many have bled to death because of it. Keep in mind that most of the victims of this are little innocent children who are now forced to go the rest of their lives without limbs for DIAMONDS people, a mineral!!! The US has had a see no evil hear no evil policy on these poor people who cannot even afford aftercare for their limbs. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT EVERYONE TAKE A PROACTIVE ROLE IN HELPING THESE PEOPLE!!!! A petition is attached to this email. I urge you to print it out make as many copies as you can and after it is filled, send it to Ms. Teresa Murphy, who is the chair of our Black Studies Dept At Lehman College Bronx, NY. The address is on top of the petition. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!! DON'T LET THE PEOPLE OF SIERRA LEONE SUFFER ANY LONGER FROM THIS CORPORATE DIAMOND HOLOCAUST!!!!

To: President Bush,

This is my second group of petitions. The first was to President Clinton, and I have never received a response to such an important cry for your support. The United States cares and guards European countries and their citizens. The African People and nation have given the United States and many of its people riches, yet the same effort to protect the vulnerable in Africa is never displayed in the policies of the United States. There are several civil wars that are taking place currently in Africa. Understandably, it is not the task of the United States to be involved in each countries international disputes. However, when war is being waged against defenseless people who are basically infants, children, women and men, then it is the United States responsibility to have a proactive position. For large corporations who become extremely rich form the blood sweat and tears of the people of Sierra Leone, we are not talking about Civil War, but we are talking about greed that enslaved Africans over 500 years ago. The quiet war is being waged for big companies like DeBeers for a rare and precious of mineral, Diamonds. Men women and children have between one or all four limbs chopped off in order to instill terror into the people. Many have bled to death and some survivors crawl on all fours. The remaining few are forced to work the diamond mines for no pay. The young innocent children are the main victims of these atrocities.

We the undersigned are calling on the United States to be PROACTIVE and develop a policy against these major companies. No mineral is worth the lives of an ENTIRE COUNTRY. We also want NO DIAMONDS sold in the United States until this atrocity is stopped. We are unable to tell their real country or origin, so we are also requesting AMNESTY for the children who are here, the victims of the diamond holocaust.
