Sort of blows out the "liberal media bias" conspiracy theory, eh?
I personally don't see how it matters whether or not some of the marchers were lesbians. If you watched it on C-SPAN then you would have seen an impressive number of men as well. Issues like this affect us all in some way. We all have friends, sisters, mothers, daughters and (guys have) wives/girlfriends that have to make decisions regarding their reproductive health. I would take issue w/ the opinion that most women have abortions for "selfish" reasons. Since when is choosing your own health and welfare selfish? I for one think it would be selfish to have a child just to "prove a point" only to discover that one isn't financially or emotionally ready for children.
Also, the fact that obtaining contraception is getting harder and harder bothers me. If more women (and some men) had access to it, there would be a reduced need for abortion in the first place. Like I've said many times before (not necessarily on here, but other places) I would not have an abortion unless it were 100% sure that carrying/delivering the baby would be fatal. But until I'm willing to raise all the unwanted children of the world, I feel as if I have no right to legislate the actions of others. We all need to take a walk in others' shoes from time to time.
