I'm an alumna of UCR and AXWhoah is right- there are 6 NPC sororities at UCR.
Potential members who are interested in recruitment should make contact with the Panhellenic council as soon as they can. The most information about recruitment goes out to the freshman and it can be hard for upperclassmen to know what is needed in order to go through recruitment, unless they know someone within an organization beforehand.
Don't worry about being a junior if you do try recruitment- the chapters at UCR are accepting of all grade levels of members whereas I know many other schools are not. My new member class was 19 women and about 1/3 of it was juniors and seniors.
The experience will be great if you do join a chapter, even if you go through EAP (Education Abroad). A lot of fraternity and sorority members study abroad at UCR.
Good luck! If you have any questions, I can do my best to put you in contact with the chapter presidents, recruitment chairs, and the Panhellenic recruitment officer.
