Ashcroft devotes millions to stopping porn

The attorney general has dedicated a sizable staff to prosecuting obscenity cases:

http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/pri...al-pe-asection

"In this field office in Washington, 32 prosecutors, investigators and a handful of FBI agents are spending millions of dollars to bring anti-obscenity cases to courthouses across the country for the first time in 10 years. Nothing is off limits, they warn, even soft-core cable programs such as HBO's long-running Real Sex or the adult movies widely offered in guestrooms of major hotel chains."

Good to know the administration has its priorities in order. It's not like the Justice Department has anything better to do. I guess that since the terrorist threat has apparently been neutralized, we should invest our law enforcement resources in a futile legal battle challenging First Amendment precedent that's been settled for thirty years. Because you know, the real enemy number one in this country isn't Osama bin Laden, drug kingpins, or corporate thieves...it's Jenna Jameson.

Ivy, J.D.
