Every chapter has different and kind of fickle criteria for this award. I authored a bylaw that tried to codify a few things for my chapter, however, it just established that the sweetheart had to be a matriculate at our school, carrying so many hours and maintaining a certain GPA.
Other than that, the only consistant thing I could think of to define it would be the female that is the house's most loyal supporter. It's a tough award to give out since we only get to give out one per year. I know that our last sweetheart has been one of our biggest fans and supporters for somewhere around 3 years, maybe more.
